Cultural and Sports Heritage
Liberia is a country with an exceptionally rich cultural heritage, where traditional dances and games form a vital part of its identity and collective legacy. Liberian music blends indigenous sounds with contemporary styles, with traditional instruments like the Kpelle drum – used both as a musical tool and a work of art – holding special significance.
Beyond dance and music, sport plays a central role in the lives of Liberians, with football being the nation’s most beloved sport. The national sports competition, the "County Sports Meet", draws widespread attention each year. Liberia is also home to one of football’s legends – George Weah, Ballon d'Or winner and he is the former President of Liberia.
Expo 2027 Belgrade will be the first International Exhibition of its kind in the Western Balkans, bringing together more than 120 countries and international organizations. Over four million visitors are expected to attend the 93-day event.
